Swimming pool
How you can enjoy life more than by swimming on a hill? From the swimming pool, you have a marvellous view. Lounge chairs, (usually) glorious weather, a good book and a glass of cold white wine will complete your holiday bliss. The swimming pool measures 6 x 12 meters and the depth varies from 1.10 to 1.80 meters. The water is cleaned by a salt-based system.
Pétanque
Next to the swimming pool you find a pétanque playing area where you can practice your pétanque skills.
Twice a year – once in spring and once in autumn – Monte do Casarão organises a painting week. The course is suitable for both beginners and advanced students. You can paint or draw using any technique and any materials you like.

February. The month when mimosa and almond trees blossom. Nature is yellow and pink. It is also the month of carnival. Almost every village or town has a parade.
Here in the south, the one in Loulé is famous. It is also the oldest carnival in Portugal, with a spectacular parade. The parade has a Brazilian touch. Lots of feathers and naked ladies. Very nice.
This year's theme is Super Carnival, with all the famous superheroes. Three days of watching, singing along and enjoying yourself. On 15, 16 and 17 February.
